We believe that all beings, big or small deserve a full life, free of intentional harm.

Meet Jamie

Jamie has been the muscle, the energy, the chef and the supportive partner of Misty’s dreams! His background as a chef in fine dining has been such a blessing. His keen sense of balance, ability to run a kitchen and his drive for perfection has built us a legacy of truly beautiful food and customer service.

We will soon be saying goodbye to him as our cook/chef but he will continue to play a major role as our business partner and teammate. He is moving on to focus on his own dreams now that he has set Ox up for success and we are so excited to see him create beauty beyond the food truck!

Meet Misty

As the creative force behind Ox Eats Grass, my vision for this food truck has always been to bring people to vegan food in a way that is accessible & celebrates the warmth, joy and playful nature of comfort food.

I truly believe that being vegan does not mean you have to compromise on flavour or creativity; if anything it forces us to broaden our understanding of what is possible when meat, dairy and eggs are not an option.

My veganism is rooted in animal welfare, human rights and environmental impact. It can only be thru collective and large scale changes to our food systems that we can heal the damage the industrial food systems have done to our health and our planet.

We are the choices we make

  • Everything is connected. The times we find ourselves in has made this increasingly apparent. If you don’t feel the weight of the world on your shoulders in 2026 you’re not paying attention. The systemic and barbarous harm we inflict on innocent animals harms our own souls, whether we are ready to accept that or not.

  • Being vegan is easy. Are there social pressures that encourage you to continue to eat, wear, and use animal products? Of course there are. But in a patriarchal, racist, homophobic, and ableist society, there are social pressures to participate and engage in sexism, racism, homophobia, and ableism. At some point, you have to decide who you are and what matters morally to you. And once you decide that you regard victimizing vulnerable nonhumans as not morally acceptable, it is easy to go and stay vegan.

  • No one is free until we are all free. This statement drives our politics, our moral compass and our rage. Where injustice exists we must rise to meet it, whether that is thru our wallets; boycotting & divesting from systems of harm, or through our plates; choosing life for all beings over our own cravings.

We stand with oppressed peoples across the globe and here at home. We believe in Land Back for all Indigenous peoples; we believe in the right of return for all displaced peoples; we believe in the freedom of all animals from system of human harm meant to keep them as slaves to our taste buds.

We are a signatory to the Apartheid Free Communities.
